So when colony has progressed to medical beds it could make regular beds medical not work.

Please do check the stats and let us know 😅 I think you can assign them as medical so that your pawns 'know where to go' when ill. I doubt that the stats would change but I can't say for certain. A mechanic I can see used in this instance. But that said it could be reduced after you have researched medical beds. I do believe that in early game when you only have access to regular beds, that changing to medical does make a difference in the healing stats. I also noted that if you unmark the 'medical' option, then it says the bed is 'unowned' which doesn't make sense since I can't assign it.
